Voyant®

Artemis Voyant® is one of the very first OLAP tools for analyzing data on the market. From the beginning Voyant has enabled the execution of multidimensional and interactive reports as graphs and in table format and their distribution to a desired target group to support decision making. Voyant® refines data into information and helps making right decisions quickly.

Artemis Voyant® is a tool for analyzing data in data warehouses. Data warehouses (Datamarts) are business driven optimized reporting databases that are typically put together from various sources of data to enable fast and powerful reporting. A data warehouse is an open solution and does not require commitment to any particular supplier.

Artemis Voyant® reports can be published in the internet or intranet as well as on local workstations. In addition to the report creation and publishing environment Voyant® includes tools for establishing, maintaining and updating data structures and data bases for reporting. Voyant® is an integrated entity and no other tools are needed.

Voyant® is:

Easy to use: Drill down to the data is done through dynamic interactive reporting interfaces. Voyant® is especially suited for creating report entities with dashboard interfaces.

Flexible: The reports can be published in the browser for large target groups or delivered to a limited audience for study in local workstations. The reports can also be studied off line and a connection to database is not necessary to study finished reports.

Powerful: Characteristic for Voyant® is the Query Cache memory structure where frequently used reporting data is saved for easy access. This solution optimizes the load and use of data base that often is a bottle neck in report creation.

Open: Voyant® works with mainstream database solutions, system software and equipment manufacturers’ open, safe and optimized solutions. In the reporting structure the customer is not bound to product dependant features but the reporting data base is open also for other operators.

Integrated: The Voyant® web version can be integrated easily and cost effectively with the company IT systems.

Affordable: Voyant® delivers the functionalities of a full breed OLAP tool with investment. Voyant meets the needs of demanding professionals and can be used at the core of a enterprise level browser based reporting solution.

EASY TO USE

All Voyant® reports are also interactive user interfaces to the analyzed data. Voyant® includes the three fundamental features for a data analysis solution:

Dimensions: Changing the viewpoint to the data is done by changing an individual dimension or combination of dimensions.
Graphics:In addition to usual table views the data can be presented in various interactive graphs. Line diagrams, histograms, XY presentations, pies etc and their combinations give a vivid picture on trends and emphasize the essential issues.


Voyant® also offers:
Linked reports: The reports can be linked together based on the data presented into informative entities. A change in the view point or drill down will automatically update the linked reports with new data.
Dashboard:A user interface made of several reports giving a clear picture of the desired entity at a single glance.
Classification, sorting and definition of data: Quick functions to classify, sort and define data e.g. with Top Ten/Others principle.


FLEXIBLE

Browser publication: Browser publication does not require separate workstation installation. The reports can be saved in pdf format and further copied to Excel.
Voyant® report document: In the core of Voyant® reporting are the Voyant® reports created on the workstation. The created documents are easy to protect, distribute and archive with the features of the work environment. The same report document can be browsed on local workstations and published through the net.
Ad Hoc reporting: Query document supports the ad hoc reporting on workstations. Query document works well also as a data source for demanding Voyant® report documents.



POWERFUL

Query Cache:

automatic cache memory minimizes the database traffic and allows browsing the reports also independent from the database.

In establishing the reporting data base Voyant® relies totally on the optimized features of the database. Voyant® requires no supplier specific solutions to secure its proper performance.

In the web publishing of Voyant® reports special attention is paid to the minimizing web traffic. Voyant® is genuinely powerful also outside the fast in-house networks.


OPEN

Voyant® supports mainstream database and system software solutions. Through the ODBC connection it is possible to access Desktop databases (e.g. MS Acces, MySQL) and even Excel. Voyant® supports SQL and no supplier specific extensions are needed.

Voyant® can be installed in MS Windows NT/2000/XP and Mac OS 9.2 environments. The web features of Voyant® are based on Java language allowing installation of the web version that communicates with the core Voyant® and operates on various server platforms and user systems. Voyant® reports can be published on any browser supporting Java 1.1 i.e. on any professional browser and in various user system environments.


INTEGRATION

Voyant® web based reporting solution is a natural part of a company’s intranet or extranet systems. A support system for corporate decision making is an example of Voyant® solution that is a report portal in which the data originates from the company’s operative systems and the report database in maintained with Voyant®.

Product family - single core: Functionality is the guiding principle of the Voyant ® product family. Quick implementation: Due to its intuitive user interface the Voyant® end users need little training unlike with the complicated traditional reporting systems. Single environment: The integrated Voyant® work station environment meets all reporting needs: preparing reports, reviewing reports and publishing them as well as managing the data structures of the reporting environment.
